We have launched a series of interviews with our team members, to give you a better picture of the (awesome) people working at WakeupData! This time we meet our Integration Consultant, Riccardo Ostinelli.
Could you introduce yourself and let us know what it is you do at WakeupData?
My name is Riccardo Ostinelli, a 23-year-old Italian brought to Denmark for my studies and my passion for Northern Europe (which blossomed after taking my Erasmus semester in Germany). Here in Aarhus I found a wonderful, heart-warming and welcoming environment in which I feel I am growing a lot as a person and as a professional. At WakeupData I am starting my adventure as an Integration Consultant, with a role of supporting customers and the CSM team.
Can you tell us something about your background?
High school years, more than anything else, have shaped my study decisions. I obtained a diploma in Classical studies, a peculiar course surviving only in Italy in which Latin, ancient Greek, Philosophy, Literature and Art and history are the focus.
These studies, combined with an involvement in politics, convinced me to start my studies in Political Science in 2014 at the University of Milan. I completed my studies in 2017 (after a five-month period spent in Germany at Konstanz Universität) with a grade of 107/110. Subsequently, I have been accepted as a Masters degree student in International Studies at Aarhus University.
I am currently finishing the last year of the degree and, before beginning my internship with WakeupData, I spent four months as an HR & Internal Communication intern at a Danish startup working with blockchain. It is at that point that I understood the incredible role that technology is playing in our world and the infinite resources that can offer us and I started wanting to be part of it.
What is your favourite part of the job?
The challenge of discovering a new tool and my passion for social interactions makes my job enjoyable every day, and WakeupData’s team makes it great.
Helping customers and supporting them in the path to their success, moreover, makes me feel immensely motivated and part of a big team headed towards a common goal.
Outside of producing high-quality, optimised datafeeds (obviously!) what are your interests or hobbies?
In my leisure time I love watching and playing football, gardening (although here I do not have any occasion) or exploring nature (I grew up hiking on the Alps).
Professionally, I have a deep interest on anything that is relevant for the world we live in: Politics, new technologies, education and, of course, cocktails!
And finally...who is your favorite superhero?
Mine is more a favorite “hero”, but to me, he has always been more than “super”: the un-catchable swordsman Zorro!
